Job Description
CCS (Consolidated Claims System) is the retail debit card/electronic claims application with in Retail Financial services. TRANE (Terminal Management - Reconciliation - Adjustments - Network - Exceptions) applications support all of the Network feeds (ATM, VISA, MasterCard, SAP, etc) and Reconciliation for Terminal Management and the CCS Provisional Credit account. The platform leverages J2EE architecture using JavaScript, JavaScript libraries and Ajax. As an Application Developer, within the CCS application team you will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing and supporting applications within the RFS technology environment.
You will participate in planning sessions with project managers, operations and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. You will participate in design reviews and provide input to the high level design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply with Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps. You will provide detailed application level software designs. You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. Additionally, you will document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance software application modules. You will schedule and participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation.
You will also participate in the Enterprise change management process to implement Ad-hoc changes / performance enhancing changes to the application. Responsibilities include providing on call production support of the application on a periodic rotation basis.
Responsibilities
Provide input (scope, level of difficulty, etc.) into estimates for new work enhancements and break fixes
Oversee design and development of components from a release level; responsible for the design, development, and IST of all application components impacted by enhancements

Responsible for on-time delivery of quality code
Support QA phase by tracking and assigning defects to development team; work with QA leads to schedule fixes and builds
Identify efficiencies and ways to improve design and development
Identify ways to increase efficiency of production support - Find solutions that allow operations to better do their job without involving development resource time

Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of Application Development work experience
College degree in related technical/business areas
Knowledge of release management version and revision control practices and procedures
Strong knowledge of development life cycles
Solid experience in Java design, coding, testing and debugging techniques
Experience designing application design documents with UML
Solid experience in enterprise level J2EE platforms using J2EE design patterns
Experience with a relational database
Experience coding and utilizing web services.
Experience with RAD or Eclipse or a similar IDE.
Experience working with Web sphere or similar application server.
Strong SQL knowledge including query design
The following are preferred but not required:
Sybase programming experience (stored procedures, SQL, query optimization)
Knowledge of open source tools and utilities
Working knowledge of middleware services and its utilization
Experience with Clear Case or similar source code versioning tools
Experience with Hibernate
