50 an hour 3 days ago 3 days ago 3 days ago Ohio State's Department of Public Safety is hiring a Public Safety Dispatcher to provide dispatch services such as answering telephones, meeting and talking to the public, interacting with other public safety personnel and/or departments and documenting events and actions.
The Dispatcher works out of a state-of-the-art communications center alongside police and security professionals.
This position operates computer systems, receives and transmits radio communications, dispatches personnel and equipment, receives and records telephone calls, receives and evaluates incoming requests for emergency services and transmits 2-way communications to dispatch emergency services, personnel, vehicles and equipment.
This role handles both 911 and emergency calls and dispatches university police, fire, and security.
The Dispatcher also receives and transmits messages to the National Crime Information Center and to the National Law Enforcement Teletype via the Ohio LEADS system and enters and retrieves data as part of maintaining records, rosters, directories and files.
Required Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One month of experience or 100 hours of training in public relations.
Successful completion of a background investigation, health screen and drug screen.
Desired Qualifications Skilled in typing, word processing and operation of computers.
Experience communicating effectively with department, university and non-university personnel.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
