The major responsibilities of this position are to conduct research under the guidance of your postdoctoral mentor Dr. Ju. Activities include isolation of natural products, structure elucidation, quantification of microbial metabolites, dissemination of results (presentations and scientific paper writing), and collaborative activities (working with graduate students and other team members).
Required: PhD degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Biology, or a related discipline by the appointment start date. Successful candidates will have a publication record in natural product discovery.
Additional Information:
The laboratory of Dr. Kou-San Ju seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute on an NIH-funded project on microbial natural products. Major goals of this project are to elucidate biosynthetic pathways of natural products, understand the nature of their antibiotic activity, and the discovery of new bioactive compounds by genome mining.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
