Our client is seeking temporary assistance on their Reserving Team in the Actuarial department.
We are seeking an individual with strong technical skills and preferably at least 2 years of reserving experience (we're flexible on the reserving experience requirement, but that is our hope).
Position
Responsibilities:
Developing/building tools for estimation of ultimate ALAE, ultimate ULAE and ultimate Large WC Deductibles using various actuarial methodologies.
w Perform actuarial analysis and make selections for ultimate LAE & large deductibles using tool(s) developed in bullet above.
w To add some context here - we have LAE ultimate ratios (parameters) that have not been reviewed for a year now.
This contingent worker will be updating those parameters, including the likely enhancement of underlying methodology used in selection thereof.
Those parameters will, in turn, be used to maintain our LAE reserve estimates throughout the year thereafter.
Perform other annual analyses and/or ad hoc tasks as assigned (TBD) - some possibilities include but are not limited to:
w Analysis and inflationary update to our implemented Guidewire formula average case reserves.
w Analysis and update of our EBUB (earned but unbilled premiums) estimates.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Data querying experience required, preferably with a SAS or SQL background MS Windows 10 experience Strong PROC SQL experience / Enterprise Guide Strong Excel and pivot table usage skills required, with VBA proficiency a plus.
