The primary mission of the Center for Gene Therapy in the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital is to develop novel genetically based therapies for inherited diseases in order to ease the burden of these diseases on children and their families.
This mission is pursued by a dedicated team of laboratory scientists whose work is directed toward clinical applications, and by the efforts of clinician-scientists who are tasked with bringing these therapies into clinical trials.

org) About the Faculty Position:
Seeking Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (Tenure Track at The Ohio State University College of Medicine) Candidates should have a research laboratory focused on neuromuscular, neurological, or neurodegenerative diseases relevant to gene therapies Will establish an independent research program Will help develop and accelerate novel gene therapies to the clinic Qualifications Required:
MD, MD/PhD, or PhD Strong track record of publishing in high quality journals Current K-award, R01 or equivalent grant funding is strongly preferred.
About the Center for Gene Therapy:
The center is interested in all aspects of gene therapy, including but not limited to gene replacement, gene editing, immunological issues associated with gene therapy, and the development and production of AAV and other vector systems.
Faculty in the Center for Gene Therapy are supported by access to affiliated pre-clinical and GMP clinical vector production facilities, a robust Office of Technology Commercialization, a highly experienced clinical trials infrastructure, and a world-class genomics core specializing in next-generation sequencing.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
