Responsibilities:
This position functions as business support to the production plant, distribution center, and financial management team.
It will assist in effectively managing and controlling the local business, and will be responsible for plant level costs and control including general accounting, cost accounting, bill of material audits, inventory reconciliations, cost analysis for multiple facilities utilizing SAP and FP&A responsibilities.
Supports month-end close and special projects as requested.
Works closely with manufacturing to understand issues and how they impact the financial results as well as educate/inform department(s) on cost drivers and variances.
Also acts as liaison with corporate financial staff, as required.
Responsible for the accurate reporting of inventory and cost of goods sold in accordance with US GAAP including accuracy of inventory costs.
Support an accurate and on-time monthly close and reporting cycle, including preparation of all inventory related reconciliations.
Provides intercompany inventory reports for upload into Hyperion.
Monitor key performance indicators including, but not limited to, service level agreements and month-end close deliverables; recommend changes to improve.
Work with marketing and product managers to define and manage intercompany transfer prices; participate in the annual transfer price review, manage the SAP data load.
Manage the execution of the annual cost roll.
Analyze the root-causes of unexpected variances for all North America SAP sites.
Implement and manage internal controls and SOX processes surrounding the inventory manufacturing cycle.
Recommend and implement process improvements including streamlining the close process, financial reporting, account / margin analysis, etc.
Improve operational support performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies.
Lead special projects as necessary.
What You Need to Succeed:
Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or related field 5-10 years professional experience in accounting or finance.
Solid GAAP accounting skills, experience cost accounting in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to extract and manipulate large amounts of data.
Strong computer skills including MS Excel and Word, ERP systems (SAP preferred).
Ability to interact with a variety of people at all organizational levels at multiple locations.
