As a Security Agent, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the dispensary, its employees, and its customers.
You will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, enforcing security protocols, and responding effectively to any potential threats or incidents.
Responsibilities:
Security Operations:
Implement and enforce security procedures and protocols to safeguard the dispensary, its assets, employees, and customers.
Monitor and control access to the facility, including verifying identification and validating credentials as required.
Conduct regular patrols to ensure a visible security presence.
Threat Assessment and Response:
Assess potential security risks and take appropriate measures to mitigate them.
Respond promptly and effectively to any security incidents, such as theft, disturbances, or medical emergencies.
Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
Surveillance and Monitoring:
Operate and monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras and alarm systems, to detect and deter unauthorized activities.
Maintain accurate records of security-related incidents, observations, and investigations.
Employee and Customer Safety:
Ensure the safety of employees and customers within the dispensary premises.
Provide guidance and support during emergency situations, evacuations, or other critical incidents.
Conduct safety briefings and trainings for staff members on security procedures.
Compliance and Regulations:
Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to security and safety in the cannabis industry.
Ensure compliance with state and local security requirements and assist in maintaining a secure and compliant environment.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of security-related activities, including incidents, equipment checks, and maintenance logs.
Submit reports to management and participate in investigations as necessary.
Loss Prevention:
Implement strategies to prevent loss or theft of inventory, cash, or other assets.
Collaborate with dispensary management to develop and enforce inventory control measures and cash-handling procedures.
Training and Education:
Assist in developing and delivering security training programs for dispensary staff, ensuring their understanding of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and compliance requirements.
Foster a security-conscious culture among all employees.
Professionalism and Customer Service:
Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Interact with customers in a courteous and respectful manner, addressing their concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (additional relevant certifications or training in security or law enforcement is a plus).
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in security, preferably in a retail or cannabis-related setting.
Strong knowledge of security principles, procedures, and best practices.
Familiarity with local laws and regulations related to security in the cannabis industry.
Excellent observational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be 21 years of age or older and pass any required background checks.
