Job Description:
Columbus Preparatory Academy is seeking a skilled and collaborative American Sign Language (ASL) Adjunct Instructor who will be responsible for teaching one period of ASL Monday through Friday.
Adjunct Instructor is responsible for mentoring and guiding students while providing an environment that fosters creativity, encourages critical thinking, and provides opportunities for students to learn from diverse perspectives.
Core Duties &
Responsibilities:
Maintain a positive relationship with administrators and students.
Serve as a resource for students who have questions regarding ASL or Deaf Studies and Culture.
Development of schedules, lesson plans, and selection of learning material and resources that help achieve curriculum objectives Analyzing the needs, interests, strengths, and weaknesses of students, and developing lesson plans in accordingly Monitoring progress and discipline and keeping parents and school counselors informed of learners who need additional support Establishing and enforcing classroom and debating rules Ensuring appropriate materials are made available (i.

textbooks and learning aids) Skills & Requirements Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and debating skills Highly organized and dependable Strong multitasking abilities Strong cultural sensitivity Calm disposition Proven experience with American Sign Language and Deaf Studies Endorsements/Licenses Bachelor's degree in Education, ASL, or related field Education License (substitute license accepted) Valid State Teaching Certification Job Type:
