The Product Specialist will be the single source between the manufactures and branch personnel concerning requests for technical assistance, general information, and parts availability problems.
Distributing important information throughout Columbus Equipment Company as necessary.
This would include but not limited to, parts and service bulletins, factory campaigns, necessary tooling requirements, technical training for the service technicians or parts personnel, etc.
Monitor and approve the training schedules for the designated branch crane technicians and parts personnel.
Provide annual evaluations on the individual crane technicians to the Vice President of Lift Division, General Product Support Manager, branch Service Manager, and the Branch Manager.
These evaluations will be the basis for mutual decisions concerning future training, advancement and or removal from the Lift Division tech program.
Provide strong leadership to the success and growth of the Lift Division and all those employees assigned to it.
Qualifications A minimum of 5 years prior experience with lift equipment.
Strong history of superior human relations skills - dealing sensitively and effectively with others, setting, and monitoring goals, building effective business relationships, and motivating peers and associates.
Existing customer and/or vendor relationships and preferred.
Participation in industry associations is preferred.
Proficient computer skills and ability to use and apply current technology Superior analytical, negotiation, presentation and writing skills.
Physical Requirements Must be able to adhere to prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time, enter, exit, and operate vehicles; as well as occasionally kneel, crouch, climb and reach Must be able to speak and write English, and hear to communicate Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally Must be able to use hands to operate office equipment Must have the ability to enter, exit, inspect, and provide limited operation of construction equipment.
