Who We Are:
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is the state agency that empowers Ohioans with disabilities through employment, disability determinations, and independence.
It is accomplished through its Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR), Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI) and Division of Disability Determination (DDD).

The team's goal is to help the agency reach more people with disabilities who could benefit from OOD services.
What is a Public Information Specialist and what do they do? Assist with communication strategies, projects, and materials from the OOD Office of Communications.
Collaborates with Communications team members on new content, including writing stories and developing new ideas.
Prepares and schedules social media posts.
Produces social media reports.
Stays up-to-date with social media and digital marketing trends to offer strategic suggestions.
Prepares social media advertisement campaigns.
Routes direct messages, emails & media calls.
Sends newsletters using a digital communications platform.
Collates and share daily news clips.
Travels as needed to help with event setup, meetings, and presentations.
Provides administrative support for the Office of Communications.
Successful Public Information Specialist:

Qualifications Completion of undergraduate core program in journalism or communication; AND 1 course or 3 months' experience in public relations.
