The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for the development and administration of the employee relations program, affirmative action program and employee engagement.
This position interfaces with employees, government agencies and educational institutions.
Employee Relations Duties/
Responsibilities:
o Oversees the career development and internal appraisal process within the organization.
o Assists management with investigations into policy violations and performance concerns.
o Manages the Employee Engagement Committeeo Administers the equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs.
Employee Relations Required Skills/Abilities:
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.
o Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
o Expert knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action requirements.
o Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Employee Relations Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
o Four years of professional human resource administration, including two years in employee relations preferred OR its equivalent through training, education, and other experience.
o SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
