Vitamix is seeking a Sr.
Product Manager who will be responsible for Expanding the Definition of the Vitamix business as it relates to entering new product categories and market verticals, in alignment with our strategic growth lanes.
They must have an entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity to know the unknown so we can redefine what Vitamix means to consumers for the next 100 years of the Company's existence.
The successful candidate will have prior experience in new category development bringing new products or services to the market that are new to the company or market vertical.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Desirability Responsible for Product category expansion roadmaps aligning to long-term strategy financial and aspirational goals.
Synthesizes data, insights, ideas from seemingly disparate areas to create a vision for expanding the definition of our business.
Tests assumptions and ideas early and often in collaboration with Advance Development Engineering and Market Research.
Understands competitive landscapes, retail and market dynamics and consumer behavior to routinely diverge and converge on the best ideas.
Very comfortable in ambiguity.
Documents assumptions and isn't afraid to make them.
Decisive and confident; Does not linger where decisions have been or should be made.
Manages project objectives on large, strategic accounts to ensure product development requirements meet customer needs; that the project scope, goals and timing are clearly communicated internally and externally, and that the deliverables meet customer requirements.
Drives innovation efforts in collaboration with Engineering around products and services for the domestic household market from initial scope through launch by utilizing market feedback data, market trend data and customer needs (VOC).
Strategizes for, monitors and approves pricing global pricing rollouts.
The SrPM integrates this into long-term financial model for product line/category monitors Business Unit profitability and ensures levels are maintained.
Viability Collaborates early and often with key stakeholders to provide input in sizing and scoping ideas.
Very comfortable developing financial models that do not always fit with core business sizing methodology.
Creative and problem solving through business model-development type efforts feels natural.
Determines gaps with forecast and sales projections and act as product lead in alignment meetings with sales managers and socializes with department leads and other key stakeholders.
Feasibility Prioritizes, Collaborates, Participates and provides a feedback look for innovation efforts in collaboration with Engineering.
Develops and is accountable for business' stage-gate content and directs and act as product lead in stage-gate projects.
Owns product life cycle management and feature set from initiation into the NPD process through end of life obsolescence.
OtherSupervises, coaches and mentors direct report(s), creating a collaborative work process that produces quality deliverables and encourages development.
Determines and schedules tasks and resource assignments.

Track record of successful product launches Possesses and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information in a clear, focused and concise manner Possesses both a business background that enables engagement at the C-level, as well as a development background that enables coordinating go to market efforts by easily interacting with external partners Proven strategic planning skills with ability to create and direct major initiatives Strong leadership skills to broadly influence and effectively forge partnerships both internally and externally.
Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
MBA strongly preferred, but equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered 8 years related experience 2 years leadership experience managing direct reports Strong preference for experience in new category development, innovation or business insights role and bringing new products or services to market new to the company or market vertical.
Preference for B2C or D2C work experience with Durable Consumer Packaged Goods, Foodservice, Culinary or Entrepreneurship To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
