Position SummaryWe are seeking a motivated Product Design Engineer (pay-band 14) to join our talented Engineering team! The Product Design Engineer will need to develop a thorough understanding of the company's products, customer needs and production costs to execute low-cost, high-quality re-designs of existing products efficiently and successfully.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Optimize our current manufacturing process to reduce scrap, improve yield, quality, and throughput.
Innovate in the restaurant equipment space and provide the engineering skills to differentiate us from the competition.
Research manufacturing trends, new technology and recommend improvements to current production methods.
Implement changes in production processes to support improvements in safety, quality, delivery and/or reduce operating costs.
Provide feedback on manufacturability, ease of assembly, and critical processes to engineers, product development, and other staff.
Generate project plans, gain project approval, and manage projects to meet roadmap milestones.
Read and interpret documents such as sketches, prints, schematics, CAD models, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, supplier quotes, and project plans.
Operate as a change agent, with the ability to articulate the value of continuous improvement to the organization.
Applies know-how in using state of the art manufacturing equipment, such as the Salvagnini P2 Panel Bender, to re-design existing products.
Use 3D CAD such as SolidWorks to develop product prototypes and collaborates with the Engineering and Production Teams to bring this to life.
ERP/MRP experience Technical Skills Ability to interrogate existing product design methods to seek out best practice methods of design for manufacturability, design for serviceability, design for installation.
Understanding of end use of the equipment being manufactured to assure alignment with compliance requirements, i.

, ETL/UL, NSF, etc.
Electrical / Refrigeration knowledge ERP system usage and familiarity Competencies:

Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or other relevant engineering discipline.
Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Prior experience using the Salvagnini P2 Panel Bender Strong, positive communicator (verbal and written) and collaborator.
Able to develop and maintain positive relationships with executives, vendors, employees, and other stakeholders.
Demonstrated application of Lean manufacturing concepts to drive results.
Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Understanding of the principles and practices associated with general fabrication.
Ability to interpret and work from blueprints.
Comprehension and prior usage of 3D CAD programs, primarily SolidWorks.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
