JOB DESCRIPTION Essential Skills and Responsibilities oMinimum of 5 years of experience in development/programming mainframe or AS400 technology projects using COBOL, VSAM, DB2, SQL or CICS languages oExperience presenting recommendations to clients oExperience with issue resolution processes for application production problems oAbility to articulate ideas, and problem/solution/business value descriptions that can be understood by a broad audience oOn-Call support Other Experience that would be helpful oWorking on an AS400 (iSeries) platform oAny exposure to other languages such as CL, RPG, HTML, XML, Java oWork in Government oAny experience with court systems oLegal knowledge WHAT WOULD I WORK ON? You would be working on custom applications that support 5 courts within Franklin County and the surrounding area.
It was originally a mainframe application that has been ported to an AS/400 (iSeries) platform.
There is a project currently underway to replace it, but we expect these applications will remain in production for the next few years during.
Most the data is in DB2 but there are remnants of the mainframe source in a lot of the code.
You would be reviewing and changing COBOL code in most cases, in response to change requests from users or break/fix incidents.
You would additionally have exposure to iSeries and other parts of the court system including E-Filing of cases and documents.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT REMOTE WORK:
We support hybrid remote work for this position.
