Statewide Services and Outreach (various Teacher and Related Services positions)The Statewide Services and Outreach (SSO) division of the Ohio School for the Deaf and the Ohio State School for the Blind is building a dynamic team to meet our goal of providing expert services and supports to all 88 counties in Ohio by 2025.
The SSO Team serves school districts and families throughout Ohio based on the following four pillars:
Community & Professional Partnerships Student Evaluation Clinic District Consultation & Educational Supports Family Consultation & SupportsServices within these pillars include providing consultation and technical assistance for school districts, students, and families, maintaining communication and collaboration with state and national organizations, providing itinerate services with a focus on short term programming, and conducting assessments that provide data for districts to build Evaluation Team Reports (ETR).
We are seeking growth minded individuals to contribute to an inclusive culture within this interdisciplinary team.
Positions include the following:
Teacher of the Visually Impaired (two positions)
Qualifications:
Valid teaching license for teaching students with visual impairments issued by the Ohio Department of EducationMinimum 3-5 years experience working in the field of education.
Preference given to applicants who:
Are dually certified as Teachers of Visually Impaired and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists; Have strong experience working with the Cortical Visual Impairment / Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI) population; Have prior experience working with Deafblind population.
Teacher of the Deaf (two positions)
Qualifications:
Valid teaching license in the area of deaf/hard of hearing issued by the Ohio Department of EducationMinimum 3-5 years experience working in the field of education.
Preference given to applicants who:
Are dually certified as Teacher of Deaf with Certification from the Council of Education of the Deaf (CED); Have Listening and Spoken Language program experience; Have prior experience working with Deafblind population.

Qualifications:
Valid pupil services licensure or registration within respective profession issued by the Ohio Department of EducationWorking Conditions:
Pay and
Benefits:
Salary commensurate with educational level and years of experience with a maximum number of years of experience from a public employer in Ohio of 10 years (five year maximum for out of state public employer).
Work Schedule:
Works in accordance with a 185-day Statewide Services and Outreach calendar spanning August 1 - June 30.
Travel:
Travel around the State of Ohio up to 50% of the time.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
