Control Systems Engineer

The Control Systems Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and cybersecurity of control systems and architecture used for data transfer and control in a plantwide format.
This includes project justification and management, technical documentation, design layouts, and development of best practices for plantwide convergence of multiple systems at Worthington Steel Facilities.
Projects will have a focus on the physical setup of network devices, cabling, control systems, and data transfer architecture to interface with industrial control systems, databases, and server-based architectures.
The Control Systems Engineer will work closely with plant engineering and Steel Support groups of the development of Industrial Controls Systems including Human Machine Interfaces (HMI's), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), process control connectivity using data flow software, and data concentration efforts with a focus on Database connectivity.
The Control Systems Engineer will also be involved and manage cybersecurity initiatives for physical and logical asset security.
This includes maintaining up to date patching, and implementation of modern hardening practices to create robust and secure systems.
ResponsibilitiesOverall Plantwide control system architecture design and documentation Network device installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance Work with Steel Support, Plant Engineering, and other supporting personnel to implement technology based on company standards for industrial control network infrastructure and projects Work with 3rd party vendors to leverage procurement, technical support, and training Physical and Logical asset management and inventory of critical spare parts and systems Assist with setting the strategic direction for future technology platforms Routinely update documentation for typical plantwide computer and network equipment, including network diagrams, cable labeling, asset & software lists, etc.
Implement and maintain virtual architecture that interfaces with industrial control systems using software such as VMware, ThinManager, FactoryTalk software platforms, Open Platform Communication (OPC) solutions, etc.
Work with multiple departments to develop custom data connectivity solutions using multiple platforms Work with engineering and maintenance groups to identify, analyze and standardize, collected process data Coordinate projects across multiple locations and using various generations of technologies Develop plans and training required to upgrade skill and stay current with cybersecurity and technology changesProject Support and Execution:
Support project managers, project teams, electrical engineers, and maintenance personnel on effective control system processes and cybersecurity best practices Provide hands on support for plantwide automation and information systems which may include project execution, commissioning, and troubleshooting as required Assist with controls system advancements and modernizing supporting systems and equipment to meet plantwide industrial control standards based on Rockwell CPWE, ISA 62443, and CIS CSC20 recommendations Desired ExperienceRequired 2 year or associate's degree from an accredited college with a major in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering / Engineering Technology, or similar field with at least five (5) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment Familiarity with SCADA software such as Ignition or Allen Bradley FactoryTalk Demonstrated competence in computer systems, virtualization environments, and common IT networking protocolsPreferred 4 year or bachelor's degree from an accredited college with a major in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering / Engineering Technology, or similar field with at least three (3) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment Project management experience, familiarity with Industrial network protocols Proficient with Allen-Bradley ladder logic, functional blocks, and structured text in RSLogix programming environments.
Other PLC programming software suites are a plus.
Experience with:
Willingness to travel to Worthington Steel locations HMI's like FactoryTalk View, Redlion, Panelviews, or others Database integration and development using Oracle, MSSQL, MYSQL, MariaDB, or others SCADA software like Factorytalk View Studio, Ignition, or Wonderware Recommended Skills Allen Bradley Factory Automation Equipment Architecture Asset Management Automation Computing Platforms Control Engineering Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
