We're looking for someone who is dedicated to ensuring that every project, no matter how simple or complex, is of exceptional quality.
You'll be working directly with clients to make sure that Leidos' reputation for high-quality work is always maintained.
These positions are largely remote in nature, but Candidates must be located in either Ohio or the Northeastern US (New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut or neighboring state) in order to be considered.
You will mostly work from home, but should be available to travel regionally to provide support to our local utility clients as needed.
As a Distribution Engineer, You can expect to:
Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customersPerform 3rd party make ready design and analysis; potentially work on capital/ reliability design (i.
e.
reconductor, voltage conversion, DG, FLISR, underground, etc.
designs)Perform distribution design by creating construction sketches and producing bill of material for 3rd party designReview engineering design packages with clients; Review and organize existing program workPerform functional tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-upPerform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client prioritiesGain experience in coordinating conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements, assessing and developing large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments, work permit development, easements, and ROW applicationsGain the ability to perform QAQC on 3rd party designBe comfortable in both a field and office setting; the role could possiby require some customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packagesWhat Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):
Bachelor's of Science in an engineering disciplineA minimum of 2 years of Relevant experience working with Third Party Make Ready Projects for electric utilities; Additional Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degreeExperience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)Familiarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman)Demonstrated Experience with development of civil & electrical packages associated with complex cable/conduit in dense urban environmentsAbility to provide your own reliable transportation,as some customer-related travel is anticipated(Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates).
Proven experience and proficiency with DDS (Distribution Design Studio) is preferred; OR Experience with STORMS software is preferredProfessional Attributes that will help you succeed in this role:

00 - $84,000.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
