The City of Worthington is seeking enthusiastic, collaborative professionals for the position of Human Resources Specialist.
In this position, you will work closely with the Personnel Director to provide administrative and technical support in the areas of Human Resources as well as customer support to employees, potential employees, and service providers.
The HR Specialist will contribute to a variety of important HR programs including wellness, employee recognition, recruiting, and onboarding.
They will process employment applications, new hire paperwork, and employee pay and status changes.
They will assist with the hiring process, including scheduling interviews and making appointments.
The ideal candidate will have a high level of organization, attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications:
An Associate's degree from an accredited university in Human Resources or related field is required with a Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities of the position.
Two (2) or more years administrative human resources related experience is required.
Possession of a credible certification in Human Resources is also preferred (e.
g.
, SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR, etc.
) This is a full-time, FLSA non-exempt, classified position with a salary range of $58,614 - $73,690.
New hires typically are appointed at step A of the pay range.
Training and experience may qualify a candidate for appointment at a higher step within this range.
