Job DescriptionDepartment/Team infoThe Enterprise Customer Information Management (ECIM) team is part of Nationwide's Chief Customer Office and manages customer (member and intermediary partner) data to support operational capabilities, communications, analytics & insights as well as improved customer experiences.
We are a team of over 30 associates with Business Leadership, Data Engineering, Data Reporting and Data Analytic skills.
We work closely with associates across our various businesses, technology teams and advanced analytics office to activate on our enterprise customer data for competitive advantage.
As part of this 2024 summer internship, the intern will work alongside our ECIM team and the Intermediary Sales Experience team within the Chief Customer Office on a joint project related to intermediary partner data.
Internship Role/responsibilitiesGraduate students with a degree in any of the following areas will be considered:
Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics or related fields.
Some statistical and/or technical background is preferred.
The successful intern will leverage their experience with database management and data centric applications to provide insights and analysis of Nationwide intermediary partners and relationships (including agents, producers, financial professionals and firms), leveraging large existing and prospect data sources.
The intern will:
(1) Curate data and implement data quality checks(2) Provide data analytics and insights and(3) Create data reporting and visualization (e.
g.
, dashboard in Tableau and presentation in PowerPoint)Additionally, the intern will exercise a customer centric mindset to help identify ways to activate on our intermediary partner data for improved experiences.
Skills/Qualifications Desired Data application and practices knowledge Advanced skills with MS products (Excel, PowerPoint), reporting tools (e.
g.
Tableau, Power BI) and modern programming/scripting languages (e.
g.
, SQL, R, Python) Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills Strong presentation skills, both written and verbally 2 years of relevant work experience Smoke-Free Iowa Statement:
