Summary:
Performs a variety of support duties for the Curriculum and Special Programs Department.
Must be proficient in the use of computer applications including Google, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, desktop publishing and other district databases.
Candidates will also have strong skills in being able to manage budget lines, fiscal records and process vendor invoices/agreements.
Being able to multitask, work under short deadlines and possessing strong communication skills are critical.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates sound judgement and emotional stability.
Maintains a positive attitude and works well with others.
Ensures the safety of students.
Interacts with staff, students and the community in a positive and respectful manner.
Assists in coordinating Chinese enrichment, GATE, summer school and EL programs.
Maintains electronic and hard files for various functions of the Special Programming Department.
Maintains forms and prepares reports related to residency issues.
Maintains a database of homeless students and arranges for transportation, if required.
Reserves American Sign Language and EL interpreters, as needed.
Assists with arrangements for students taking accelerated classes.
Prepares annual notifications to parents.
Maintains database for exchange students and coordinates requests.
Provides assistance in preparation of hosting students from foreign countries and student trips to foreign countries.
Prepares materials for the Curriculum Department and resident educator program.
Provides an accurate accounting for all monies received.
Processes timesheets for employees, as needed.
Prepares and enters requisitions, purchases necessary items and reconciles invoices.
Prepares items for the monthly board agendas and maintains all records requiring board agenda approval for the department.
Maintains respect at all times for confidential information.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent with three to five years related previous experience preferred.
Experience working with organizing various events is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
None.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents and instructions.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively with people.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic mathematical skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must have strong communication, computer and interpersonal skills.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
