Maintain a close partnership with the store systems and platform & reliability engineering teams to help them architect and implement their environments via new and ground-breaking methods that break the traditional infrastructure model.
Focus on the principles of network availability, performance, reliability, and automation.
Deliver knowledge and experience of the Network and Telephony domains.
This includes devices and configurations, processes, capacity management, and stability of corporate campuses, hubs, clouds, data centers, and store locations.
Develop and implement automation tools and frameworks thereby enhancing the platform's AT/CI/CD pipelines and creating Network as Code.
Note:
This role would need to be hybrid in our Columbus, OH headquarters on an as needed basis (no set number of days per week).
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Build, manage, and continuously develop a highly technical and high functioning staff of network engineers contributing to the operational support, architecture, and engineering of our networks to speed, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Research and present new technology trends, influencing peers and leadership toward adoption, driving accountability of the achievement of roadmap milestonesDesign, implement, and roll out solutions in tandem with the platform team that leverage integration of home-grown, open source and 3rd party solutions to provide a high-performing continuous delivery pipeline that fits with the development teams' needs as well as Designer Brands' long-term strategyWill be integral to developing and improving incident and change management within the networking engineering space.
Responsibilities include driving initiatives regarding improvements to existing processes, provide feedback, develop new practices & procedures, and support audit initiativesAccountable for meeting or exceeding service level metrics on reliability, availability, scalability, and performance; drive continuous improvement in availability, performance, and automation; increase efficiency to project delivery and consistency of solutions via automation and Network as CodeDevelop and maintain relationships with manufactures and providers of network and telecom equipment and solutionsWork collaboratively with other SME's and team members on project solutionsMentor and provide technical oversight and guidance to team members and cross-functional partners, improving their skills, knowledge of our systems, and their ability to get things done!Participate in industry groups to gain visibility to trends and influence future direction Required Skills:
Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools and procedures, including ping/traceroute, debugging and system logs, packet capture and analysis, performance monitoring, and fault isolation.

Qualifications:
Experience:

years' experience mentoring engineering teams and working in a leadership role5
years' working with network and telephony engineeringExperience with any defect tracking systems, version control systems (emphasis on Git), and configuration management systemsExperience with modern development tools such as Git, Mercurial, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.
Understanding of a broad range of technologies, hardware, applications, OSI Model, and other tools/frameworks related to the network spaceExperience utilizing best of breed processes to improve day to day operationsProven experience working and prioritizing across relationships with support, services, product and engineering teamsMaintain familiarity with network troubleshooting tools and procedures, including ping/traceroute, debugging and system logs, packet capture and analysis, performance monitoring, and fault isolation.
Ability to take technical and/or business requirements and translate them into detailed blueprints to assist in creating automated test casesMeasure and report progress against targets for improvement in cited areasBackground working with various automation scripting languagesProven security architecture knowledge, specific experience with PCI DSS and SOX complianceKnowledge of AT/CI/CD Process and ToolingKnowledge of Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, and Terraform Preferred
