The Post Doctoral Scholar will carry out clinically focused NIH-funded studies regarding progression of Lyme disease and Leishmaniasis. This will entail canine physical examination, blood draw, occasional sedation, biopsy, and necropsy. This post-doc will also perform coordination with owners/caretakers for visits and diagnostic reports. Some day-to-day project coordination with graduate and undergraduate students will also be required. This post-doc will aid Dr. Christine Petersen and others in the group in manuscript preparation, grant and report writing as appropriate.
Minimum Education Required:
A DVM or equivalent is required

Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to prepare manuscripts, reports, charts and other documents of a technical and scientific nature
Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to travel overnight, valid US driver's license
MPH and experience working in epidemiology of zoonotic diseases, particularly Leishmania and Lyme disease
Desired Qualifications and Education:
Further interest or degree in areas of science such as epidemiology, immunology, or microbiology
Experience with manuscript and/or grant preparation
Supervisory experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
