McGraw-Hill School Education (MHSE) , a division of McGraw-Hill Education and the leading provider of print and digital educational materials for Grades PreK-12, has an exceptional opportunity for a Publishing Technical Specialist, located in Columbus, OH . The Publishing Technical Specialist will be responsible for assisting in implementation and ongoing support of School Education's digital publishing solutions. The position is primarily focused on supporting the use of content management systems, digital workflows and publishing software tools and the Adobe software suite.
Essential Accountabilities:
Ensure projects are set up and configured for the publishing system including: workflow management, user setup and management, vendor/freelancer setup, as well as server setup. Also ensure software meets current specifications
Manage the personnel issues for incoming K4 projects including, but not limited to: scheduling training, installs, go-live timing, coordinating with corporate technical team on any server-related duties, etc. Ensure software and equipment meets current specifications
Monitor help desk ticket inbox: answer end-user questions and resolving support issues in a timely manner
Assist end-users in learning new technology and processes
Conduct daily monitoring of systems
Integration of automated processes through use of scripts and available technology
Perform maintenance and upgrades to workflow software
Perform software installations (Creative Suite, K4)
Create, update, and customize instructional materials and best practices documents for all SEG groups and Publishing Technology, covering publishing system and other related topics. Technology responsibilities and delivery may extend beyond written documentation (video, WebEx, or other)
Identify documentation needs through interactions with SEG employees and customer-submitted suggestions
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Experience with content management, digital workflows and publishing software solutions
Project management experience
Experience with one or more of the following: scripting, relational databases, XML, HTML, SQL
Comfortable with Windows and Mac platforms
Experience in a customer-focused position; exceptional interpersonal skills
Self-directed, well organized, able to lead by example
Strong verbal and written communication skills (communications, analytical, and interpretative skills)
Comfortable with managing multiple projects simultaneously
Desired:
Adult teaching or training experience a plus (ability to instruct less-knowledgeable employees with ease)
Experience developing and implementing software training curriculum a plus
