Lumenance is searching for a motivated individual that can writein Englishvery well. The general areas your excellent English writing skills will be employed are:
1. Helping current and prospective Lumenance employees develop professional resumes
2. Developing digital marketing content (a.k.a. blogging) to attract great talent and customers alike
3. Developing traditional marketing material such as brochures
4. Developing business documents such as employee manuals, process documentation, and engineering standards
5. Generally managing Lumenances written communication to our team members, customers, government, and the world
This is a full-time, direct position with Lumenance.
As we are an engineer focused, entrepreneurial team, all candidates must be able and willing to work within a small, continuously evolving, technical team.
The successful candidate will be located in either Sun Prairie, WI or Columbus, OH. However, Lumenance will consider the possibility of locating the position (temporarily, permanently, or seasonally) to either Puebla or Queretaro, Mexico after a 120 days evaluation period is successfully completed upon mutual agreement and acquisition of required visas. Both of these Mexico locations offer the incumbent the potential opportunity to explore a wonderful culture while helping our dynamic, small business grow its Latin American capabilities.
Process
Responsibilities:
This position will report to the Managing Partner of Lumenance and will be providing support to two primary business processes: Develop and Manage Talent as well as Market and Sell Products & Services. Specifically, the position will support the execution of the following sub-processes:
Develop and communicate HR policies
Manage job requisitions
Recruit/source candidates
Manage applicant information and relationships
Manage employee orientation and deployment
Manage employee work authorization
Define & manage channel strategy
Define value proposition
Develop branding strategy
Develop & manage marketing media
Develop and manage promotional activities
While you will be involved in a wide range of business processes, the common thread will be your ability to write high quality material. In addition to the above, you may become involved in legal related document creation (e.g. contracts and agreements).
Skills Required:
Excellent English communication skills - both verbal and written
Polite, energetic, and a willingness to learn new things
Able and willing to assist current and prospective employees to develop clear, concise resumes using Lumenances standards including assisting in the writing of resumes as needed. It is anticipated that the successful candidate may initially spend roughly 20% of their time in this area.
Able to develop copy for marketing material such as brochures
Ability to maintain company blogs and social media related to current and prospective employees and customers. You will be managing the web-based content directly and therefore must be able to efficiently use the necessary software (such as Wordpress).
Able to find alternative channels for publishing relevant blogs/articles (e.g. trade magazines and websites)
Strong interpersonal skills - including collaboration with engineers, sales professionals, follow-up phone calls with job candidates, and active participation in team meetings in order to understand various topics sufficiently to develop any written material required
Strong planning, and organizational skills - with an ability to manage competing demands
Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate business software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and related
Creative approach to problem solving - with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the big picture view
Comfortable (if not downright excited about) working for a small business
Youll really impress us if you also have a few of these:
Ability to verbally communicate with Spanish speaking engineers
Ability to write in Spanish
A mix of liberal arts and business education (e.g. English major with a minor in Marketing)
Ability to use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or similar software to create and manipulate images for use in marketing material
Above average savviness with web-based applications (both using them and participating on a team that is developing them)
Ability (or willingness to learn) to help define business processes using tools such as Visio
Ability (or willingness to learn) to help with HR related processes (e.g. benefits management)
Entrepreneurial spirit and skills
At least 2 years experience in Technical Writing, Digital Marketing, or related field
Minimum Qualifications
4-year degree in English, Spanish, Journalism, Digital Marketing, or other major whereby you developed awesome writing skills
Positive attitude, willingness to work hard, and demonstrated ability to learn quickly (as likely evidenced by an above average GPA and/or excellent job references)
