Senior Oil and Gas Project Manager

The firm has expanded from its initial offering of professional land surveying services, to include digital aerial mapping, terrestrial, mobile and airborne LiDAR services, hydrographic surveying, subsurface utility engineering (SUE), utility coordination and geographic information systems (GIS). The company also now has a wholly owned subsidiary, SAM-Construction Services, LLC (SAM-CS) that specializes in construction phase services.
We are looking for a leader with a unique mix of entrepreneurial spirit, technical depth and business acumen to build and lead the oil and gas operations in our Columbus, OH office. This role will be responsible for growing the business organically and providing strategic leadership for the department. As a Senior Project Manager-PLS (Oil & Gas) for SAM, you will manage operations and staff, including project managers, staff surveyors, technicians and field operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key decision makers/clients. Focus on customer retention with new business penetration
Provide leadership for trade shows, team sales calls, proposal development and company presentations
Identify project opportunities, create proposals, costs estimates, and project scope
Ability to manage projects and monitor quality control
Recruit, develop and lead a team of professionals to maximize their potential
Review performance data to measure profitability, productivity, goal progress and activity levels
Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency
Establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the market area
Other duties as assigned
Required Experience - Education and Skills
7
years of progressive surveying and management experience
Professional Land Surveyor Ohio license preferred
Demonstrated leadership skills to manage multiple registered surveyors, technicians and field crews to deliver multi-disciplinary projects
Demonstrated success in recruiting, strategic planning, business development, contract negotiations, financial performance, networking and project execution
Ability to work successfully in a collaborative environment
Solid relationships in the oil and gas sector
Successful experience in contract negotiations, budgets, and fee estimates
Ability to work effectively under pressure and drive results of the team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel as business necessitates
