Manager of Coding Operations under the direction of the Director of Coding and Compliance, plans, organizes, staffs and directs the daily activities of the Physician Coding group.
Job Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or Business, Health Administration required.
CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA certification(s) required.
Minimum of three years in a health care management role required
Minimum of three years of professional coding (E/M and surgical) experience required.
Strong communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage revenue cycle operations and staff in a multi-specialty, multi-provider based system.
Detailed working knowledge all aspects of coding and current reimbursement regulations and compliance issues relating to Government and third-party payers for physicians.
Experience
Works collaboratively with the Manager, HIM & Compliance and Coding & Compliance Specialists on coding issues and ensuring compliance of the coding process.
Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the operations of the MCMG Coding workgroup responsible for evaluation and management, diagnostic, and procedural coding throughout MCMG to achieve an optimal level of performance with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Manages coding specialists in a centralized and remote environment through established monitoring of productivity and quality.
Manages associate performance including updating position descriptions, hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, associate development, annual education and termination in accordance with Human Resources policies and procedures.
Provides guidance and direction to assigned staff to ensure effective integration and coordination of departmental work activities and quality job performance. Serves as a technical advisor and resource to staff
