As a National Bank Examiner/ Bank Examiner (LB Field Examiner) w/ emphasis in Operational Risk, you will:
Plan, organize, and control supervisory activities in large banks, and occasionally for midsize banks, credit card banks, and/ or the most complex community banks. Develop supervisory strategies including plans to effect corrective action and programs to monitor bank progress in the designated are of operational risk. Use a risk-based approach, draw conclusions and prepares supervisory documentation consistent with OCC standards. Identify, prioritize, and respond to systemic risks and issues through supervisory activities. Conduct or participate in discussions with senior bank management on findings and prepare recommendations. Prepare communications to foster positive changes within the bank. Maintain effective communications internally within the OCC and/ or external to the OCC and ensures that appropriate coordination and follow-up activities take place. Identify and resolve complex problems or issues that generally cross organizational, functional or disciplinary boundaries and impact the accomplishment of both short- and long-range strategic agency objectives. You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
Leading examinations, reviews or audits within a financial institution to evaluate the effectiveness of their operational risk management practices/framework to ensure compliance with applicable banking laws and/or regulations. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
