Basic Requirement:
Must be able to type 40 words per minute to qualify. In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade in the Federal service that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. For GS-05:
Specialized Experience at the GS-04 level is defined as:
experience performing clerical or office work such as duplicating documents, processing/delivering mail, basic record keeping, reporting and informational duties, including compiling, maintaining, updating data, lists and reports in support of an organization's operations. For GS-06:
Specialized Experience at the GS-05 level is defined as:
providing administrative, technical and general office support duties to an organization; providing support and assistance on personnel, supply, training, and budget reporting and processes; utilizing office automation to create, retrieve, update, manipulate and store electronic data; and preparing, editing and formatting documents and reports. Time-in-Grade:
Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-5, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-3 or higher in the Federal service. To be considered for the GS-6, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-5 or higher in the Federal service.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
