Vehicle Description Cruisin Classics would like to offer for your consideration this very cool survivor 1962 Ford Galaxie XL500 Convertible.
This top-of-the-line Ford is still wearing its original Peacock Blue paint which has taken on a very nice patina over its life.
There are small scrapes and dings, a little surface rust, and a small dent on the right front fender and bumper, but it just oozes character.
All of the original trim is present and some of it shows patina similar to the paint.
The exterior styling is emblematic of the time with large, round tail lights, futuristic driver's side mirror, and front fender ornaments.
Chrome body side moldings with white painted insets run the length of both sides of the car and really tie in with the white top.
The white convertible top has obviously been replaced in recent years and is in great shape.
The motor for the top works well and the top goes up and down just as it should.
The Galaxie sits on Bridgestone SF475 tires and has it's original hubcaps Under the hood is the original 352ci V-8 with a 2-barrel carburetor.
While under the hood you'll also notice that it has power steering and power brakes - drums on all corners with a single reservoir.
The 352 is mated to a 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission and a 3.

1 rear gear that is perfect for cruising.
As soon as you open the driver's door you can see that all of the interior courtesy lights still work - illuminating a very well-appointed original interior.
The Turquoise Pleated Vinyl interior still looks as opulent today as it did in the early 60's.
The front bucket seats are comfortable and roomy with a center console armrest and a console shifter.
The door panels are definitely original and match the carpet and upholstery perfectly.
The carpet is in good condition and the seats are all tear-free.
The original dash continues the futuristic design of the rest of the car and features working gauges and a working factory AM radio.
Unlike a lot of cars of this era, nearly everything still works inside - horn, heater, fan, turn signals, wipers, lights, door locks, and radio.
The only thing that we noticed that didn't work is the clock.
Inside the glovebox is the original owner's manual with the original owner's info and signature in it - a very cool piece to have.
In the trunk is a full-size spare with a jack, a nice turquoise vinyl boot cover for the top, and chrome fender skirts for the rear wheels.
In today's market, you'd be hard-pressed to find a classic convertible in this condition and with this cool factor at such a reasonable price! This was a very high-dollar car for its day and it is still a head-turner everywhere you go in it 60 years later! Engine 352ci V-8 2-Barrel Carburetor Power Steering Dual Exhaust Transmission 3-Speed Cruise-O-Matic Automatic 3.
