Vehicle Description Cruisin Classics is pleased to present to you this 1966 Ford Mustang.
This Pony was born a Tahoe Turquoise car with Aqua interior, but it sits before us today dressed in dark red metallic paint and a red interior.
The paint is driver quality and at 5 feet it looks great, but a closer inspection reveals a variety of imperfections.
The exterior of this Mustang has some non-OEM features that make it different than your average '66.
The hood features a faux air scoop with Mustang badging on both sides.
The linear horizontal grill is flanked by headlights and faux chrome air vents, but lacks the pony in corral at the center.
The chrome front bumper has a nice shine and beneath it are turn signal indicators on the lower valence.
Both front fenders wear red, white, and blue running pony badges and the rear quarters feature faux side scoops.
Bright window trim provides a nice accent to the red body and this theme continues with chrome drip rails, ribbed chrome rocker covers, bright wiper arms, dual chrome side mirrors, and chrome door handles.
Around back you'll find another gleaming bumper, bright tail light bezels, and a running pony gas cap.
Under the bumper on the lower valence are reverse lights and beneath that are exits for the dual exhaust.
The car has a great stance atop 5-spoke American Racing Wheels with Douglas Performance tires up front and Starfire RS-C 2.
0's on the rear.
Under the hood is a clean and tidy engine bay.
The previous owner provided us with receipts for all of the work done during their stewardship and there was a very large sum spent under the hood.
We believe the engine to be a NOM 302ci V8, but it's a Ford - you've got to pull the engine out to find all the numbers for proof.
The V8 was recently rebuilt and aluminum FloTek heads were added and topped with aluminum valve covers.
An Assault Intake was mounted on the block and topped with a FiTech fuel injection system.
A ribbed aluminum air cleaner tops things off with a bright touch.
Newer parts abound, including the aluminum radiator, power steering pump, brake booster, water pump, alternator, chrome oil pan, and a front pulley system.
This engine fires up with ease and runs strong! The V-8 is mated to a C4 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly as it should.
Stopping power comes from 4-wheel power disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors.
The upgraded brake system includes a dual reservoir, new lines, and a new e-brake.
When you open the drivers door you're greeted by a red interior illuminated by courtesy lights.
The door panels are in good condition and feature pistol-grip door handles (with woodgrain inserts) and an interior control for the drivers' side mirror.
The front bucket seats are dressed in red vinyl with gold center insets and the rear bench is done to match.
The bucket seats have nice chrome side covers and are in excellent condition.
All seats are equipped with new seatbelts with a running pony badge on the clasp.
A red vinyl aftermarket center console runs between the bucket seats and features an armrest with storage box, 2 cup-holders, the shifter, and a small open area for storage.
Ahead of the driver is a 3-spoke Grant GT wood steering wheel that has a nice period look.
The dashpad is crack-free and done in red vinyl.
The original gauges have been upgraded to Autometer brand and all are in working order (fuel, water temp, speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure, and voltage).
The gauges are all set in a woodgrain bezel and illuminate when the headlights are on.
Also on the dash are controls for the working 2-speed wipers and working fan and heater.
The dash is also home to a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo with a Pioneer amp in the trunk and Pioneer speakers on the front kick panels and the rear package tray.
Woodgrain continues on the passenger side glovebox door that also features a running pony badge.
Open the glovebox to find a working courtesy light and the switch for hazard lights.
Overhead is a tight red vinyl headliner and two visors while underfoot is nice red hook loop carpet.
Back in the trunk is a plaid vinyl mat, a car cover, red rubber floor mats with pony logos, the aforementioned Pioneer amp, and a file of receipts and equipment info booklets for work done on the car in the last couple years.
This 1966 Mustang is a good looking and strong running car that has recently been completely sorted out by a professional shop.
It certainly checks a lot of boxes with a strong rebuilt V8, fuel injection, 4-wheel disc brakes, power steering, tons of new parts under the hood, a great sounding stereo system, and a very nice interior.
This pony is turn-key and ready to hit the road today - all it needs is you in the drivers' seat!
